The Jazz on the Low Team
On this page we introduce our Jazz on the Low team. These
are the friendly faces that will greet you on Wednesday evenings
when you come to our live jazz sessions. And their main aim
at the club? To make your evenings listening to great jazz
enjoyable and memorable.

Organisation
The driving force behind the jazz activity
at HC & SC is Peter Hardman. Thanks to his energy
and enthusiasm live jazz has been put on at the club
for nearly 20 years and is still going strong, contributing
greatly to the Manchester Jazz scene. A former cricket
club member for many years, Peter took over the club
stewardship role, which he still has, and that makes
his success with the jazz side of the social club, all
the more remarkable.

Administration
But he is not a one-man band! Peter is given great support
by these ladies: from left to right Sue White and Lillian
Hardman (Peter's wife). They put in lots of hours arranging
the room for live jazz each Wednesday, running club
draws and various raffles, collecting entrance money
and generally dealing with all those problems that can
arise, with calm and efficiency.

Staff
And talking of drinks, how would jazz evenings
go down without a good bar service? The answer: they
wouldn’t! The bar staff at the jazz club are second
to none. We’ve mentioned the ladies, so let’s
introduce the guys to you. From left to right, they
are Colin Cheetham, Mike Kelly, Phil Greaves, John Wright.
All are long standing club members and provide a warm
and friendly service. They make a great team and work
tirelessly to make Jazz on the Low enjoyable for all
who come along on Wednesday nights.
