Jazz On The Low Newsletter

Welcome to our Web Site.

Welcome to the 'Jazz on the Low' web site, which tells you all about the jazz we put on at Hyde Cricket & Squash Club. We are delighted that you are visiting our web site and hope you will enjoy browsing! There are several reasons why we have produced this web site. We want to encourage live jazz - in our view, nothing comes close to hearing great jazz live - and are proud of our long established record of putting on live jazz performances. If you like, it's our contribution to the Manchester jazz scene!

Not surprisingly, we also want to advertise our jazz at HC&SC, which our regular jazz enthusiasts agree is a great place to come and see some of their favourite jazz bands. And of course, the site enables us to provide links to those bands that have their own web sites, as well as help promote the ones that don't. The Internet is a wonderful medium for advertising the jazz entertainment we have to offer, and sharing with jazz folk some of the enjoyable musical nights we have put on.

We hope you will agree that we have met all of these objectives in our web site. And if we haven't, tell us how we can improve. You'll find it easy to communicate with us by clicking through to 'Contact Details'.

Jazz on the Low

All jazz activities are organized by Peter Hardman, as part of Hyde Cricket & Squash Club's social activity. That ensures that visitors to the jazz events can enjoy the club's facilities, including a well stocked bar, and join in some of the social club activities, such as the regular prize draws that are organized.

The atmosphere is warm and friendly, and we think we have an enviable team to look after all our visitors. So much so, that we've featured them on the web site. Click through to 'The Jazz Team' page and gen up on them.

Needless to say, what we're most excited about is the live jazz we put on. Peter has tirelessly sought the best entertainers from both the local jazz scene, and much further a field. The main jazz style is traditional, but don't be surprised to hear mainstream jazz at the club too. A browse through the pages featuring the jazz bands and jazz artists who've appeared on the Low will give you a much better flavour of what you can expect. And we'll be surprised if you don't find someone you know and will want to come and watch! Live music is what it is all about, and we are determined to continue playing an active role in Manchester's jazz scene, providing a stage for fine jazz musicians.

Peter can be contacted via the numbers on this web site - see our 'Contact Details' page
